*Wink*Wink*

As soon as PQ got off the school bus today, he noticed that Grampa was on his 'tractor'. He immediately ran over and hopped on for a ride. Ever since PQ was a tiny tot, he has always LOVED tractors. (Country Dad and PQ battle over John Deere vs. Ford, however, PQ doesn't seem to be fussy when it comes to his tractors.)

PQ and Grampa

Doesn't Grampa look so proud?

The boys were acting silly for the camera.

This evening, we had dinner at the Sunshine Family house! It was an awesome evening filled with DELICIOUS food and outstanding company! I think Mama Sunshine made 8 different courses for us to try...it was awesome! (I know I said it this evening, but my favorite was the spinach artichoke dip. Country Mouse would have LOVED it!!!! PS~ I have leftovers that you can try tomorrow night!)

Upon our arrival, this is the sign that Izzy Sunshine had hanging on her door!
(Congrats again!)

Izzy Sunshine was full of smiles, per the usual...

...and the kids had a BLAST together!

After dinner, Mama Sunshine brought me a special gift bag filled with some goodies that have helped her recently. The simple gestures meant the world to me. She's very thoughtful and regardless of what Papa Sunshine thought a few years ago, I LOVED the idea, Mama Sunshine!!! (Thanks again.) The gift bag was filled with saltines, ginger ale, tums, pickles, and ice cream.

*I'll let you guess why.*

Weekend Recap...

On Friday night, Grammy surprised Papa H and PQ with LOBSTER!!! ($3.99 a pound in the same town as Country Mouse's MIL.) My boys LOVE the edible, red crustaceans so she surprised them with a special treat. The boys loved it, to say the least. I made lobster omelette's, per their request.

PQ was a little nervous to pick one up...

...but was PSYCHED when he finally did.
(Even if it was only part of one....hahaha!)

On Saturday, Papa H surprised me with roses!
(Thanks again, Papa H)

PQ and I made a pact to stay in our PJ's all day on Saturday.
WE DID IT!!!!!
Here is a picture of PQ in his PJ's just before dinner.

And this my friends, IS DINNER!
(PQ found a recipe for a SPOOKY SNAKE CALZONE...Isn't he cute?)
~The mini pizza was stretched by PQ. Only 2 dollars, Glory *WINK*~

On Sunday, we woke up and got ready for church.
PQ got to shave with Papa H this morning...talk about some serious MAN TIME!

PQ is VERY serious about a close shave...I think he shaved 8 times this morning!

Papa H gave his testimony at church today. It was awesome. I am so proud of my husband. He shared how he came to know the Lord and what impact it has had on his life. Papa H is a good man~Awesome Dad and Incredible Husband! Nana came down to hear Papa H's testimony and it was nice having her there.
After church, we took Nana out to lunch at the local diner. Nana and Papa H had breakfast food....PQ had a hotdog and mashed potatoes...and I had a full blown turkey dinner!
It was nice having lunch with Nana today.

It's Unfolding Before My Eyes

Delight yourself in the Lord; And He will give you the desires of your heart. ~Psalm 37:4

Sometimes when we ask God to use us, we need to be prepared for what He has planned. Sometimes He will place desires on our hearts that we've never had before. Sometimes His plan for us will be confusing and sometimes His plan for us will be frustrating.
Over the past year of my life, I've learned that God will lay some very heavy things on my heart when I ask Him to use me to fulfill a purpose. I've learned that not all prayers are answered immediately and for that, I'm thankful. I trust Him and I trust that my life is unfolding exactly how He planned it to be. (I will be sharing more of my story over the next few weeks.)

I urge you to live a life worthy of the calling you have received. Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love.
~Ephesians 4:1-2

Thank you, Lord for answering our prayers. I thank you for the opportunity to serve You and I pray that You would receive all the glory from this answered prayer.

Hard Working Hayes Boys

PQ was hard at work this afternoon. I scored an empty box from BJ's and brought it home for PQ this afternoon. He has been asking for an empty box for quite some time so when I saw the empty box at BJ's, I thought of him immediately! He was PSYCHED, to say the least!

Do you see the resemblence between the BLACK appliance and PQ's box?
(They're both refrigerators!!!!)
*PLEASE NOTICE THE SHINY HANDLE ON PQ'S FRIDGE...IT'S REAL!!!*

After my PTG meeting this evening, I came home to find THIS...

Apparently the lumber and refrigeration business is TIRING!!!! My boys worked hard today, that's for sure!

Another Weekend Gone By...

This weekend was BUSY, that's for sure! Here are some pics (and stories) from the weekend so please try and keep up. ENJOY!

On Friday morning, PQ woke up and got a PRIZE (a singing toothbrush)!!!
He stayed in his OWN bed ALL NIGHT LONG for the 6th night in a row!
WAHOO!!!

On Friday afternoon, we headed to the Homecoming Parade with some friends!

When we got home from the parade, PQ fell INTO the toilet....LITERALLY!
(I made him stay there so I could snap a picture. I know! I know...but come on, it's HILARIOUS!!!!)

On Saturday morning, we headed to PQ's soccer game...

...and quickly changed into baseball gear when he got home.
As you can see, he is very serious about baseball.
(He ONLY wears the Yankee's hat to irritate Papa H.)

I tried raking leaves but that didn't go over so well...OR DID IT!!!??

PQ was having a BLAST in the leaves!

He was happy to let me cover him in leaves for this picture...

...and I couldn't resist getting in the leaves too!
(I love this picture of us-I think we look a lot alike!)

On Saturday night, PQ and I headed to MB to get some groceries while Papa H worked on the house. On the way home, I couldn't help but take this picture. He's growing up so fast.

Today was a fun day! We went to church this morning and then came home to spend the day at home. Papa H worked on the house while PQ and I played 'dress up like Dad'....HILARIOUS!!!

Glory's family came over and made us dinner this evening! What a treat!! We had a yummy waffle breakfast supper! Thanks again, Glory! Before heading home, we found Tony taking out the.entire.book.collection!! This boy makes me laugh, even though he doesn't know it half of the time!

The weekend was busy but a lot was accomplished. Thanks again, Papa H! You're doing a great job on the house and it looks FANTASTIC!!!
XOXOXOXO

A Prayer for Joey

Dear Lord,

Thank You so much for this day. I thank You for the sunshine and I thank You for the crisp air. I thank You, Lord, for being in my life. I thank You for my friendship with HD-DIVA. I thank You for all of the amazing experiences that we've shared over the years, Lord. I thank You for her loving personality and all of the gifts that You have given her...and I thank You for all that she has given to those around her.

I am sad for HD-DIVA this evening, Lord. I'm sad for her family as well. I pray that You would wrap Your arms around her cousin, Joey. I ask You to embrace him in Your arms, Lord. I pray that he knows You, Dear Lord. I pray that You would place Your healing hands upon him, Lord. I pray that through this illness he finds comfort knowing that You have a plan for his life. I pray that You would encourage him during this very sensitive time and I pray that he is not afraid.

I know that You are capable of anything, Dear Lord. I pray that if it is Your will to heal Joey, that it will be done in Your time. I do pray for the physician's, Lord. I pray that they would find ways to help ease any pain that Joey might have. I pray that they would have the resources to treat his condition as well. I know that this family is scared, Lord, so I ask you to be with each and every one of them. Help them to rely on You for faith and help them to get through this very difficult time.

In Jesus name I pray~
Amen

*I love you, HD-DIVA! :)*

Redneck-ism??

PQ woke up this morning with an AGENDA! Upon waking up, he immediately asked me if he could wear his 'working boots' to school. I said yes...and then PQ quickly said "OOOOOH, YEAH, BABY...I'M WEARING MY 'HUNTING SHIRT' TOO". Within minutes of leaving him alone in his room to get changed for school, I came back to see PQ standing in his room still in his pajama's. He had a HUGE smile on his face so I asked him what the smile was all about. He instantly said "I MADE A MAN...I WANTED TO SEE HOW I WAS GOING TO LOOK TODAY SO I MADE A MAN".

As I looked over at his bed, this was the 'man' that I saw...

After the 'redneck-ism' wore off, he got dressed and we headed off to the bus stop.
(This is how PQ looked in the outfit.)
*Grampa H-he said he couldn't wait to go hunting with you*

After getting PQ on the bus for school, I drove to work.
THIS is what I saw on someone's lawn...hahaha!
I HAD to turn around and go back for a picture! Hilarious!!

From a 'pretend man' to wondering how my son became a redneck,
the entire morning was an absolute joy!
PQ never ceases to crack me up when I least expect it.
THANKS, PQ! xoxoxoxo

We are SEW excited!

Well, it's official. I've decided to learn how to sew! Crash and I are going to be embarking on a sewing challenge so I'm sure there will be many stories to tell in the weeks to come. Crash and I have been conversing via email over the past few weeks about our upcoming sewing classes. Crash cracks me up...she sends me emails saying that she is sew excited. We're looking for some other quirky sayings so please let us know if you have any!

For now though, I just wanted to say THANK YOU to Mimi who has accepted the the job as our teacher. (This could be interesting, folks. I don't know if Mimi really knows what she has in store.)

I'm off the the fabric store right now. I need a package of No Roll (3/4 inch elastic) and 1 1/2 yards of fabric to make PQ some PJ pants. *Disclaimer: I cannot guarantee that they will be SHAPED like pants when I'm done. I wanted to start with a placemat but Mimi seems to think that Crash and I can handle PJ pants as our first prioject.*

Wish me luck! Better yet...wish the store clerk luck! I have no clue what I'm doing! ;)

Thanks again, Mimi!

Crash and I are SEW excited. Aren't we, Crash?? *WINK*

Weekend Recap

On Saturday evening, my boys worked on the new bedroom floor.
PQ decided to help after he had already gotten into his PJ's.

Have I mentioned how much I love it when my boys work together??

I love how Papa H takes the time to explain techniques to PQ.
He's an awesome Dad!

After the 'man work' was done, PQ changed his PJ's
and then my boys sat back and watched the game together.
(Papa H stayed up until 1:30am only to see the Red Sox lose...BOO HOO!!)

After church this morning, we took Beaner back to our house
for some 'playtime' with PQ.

She's helping her little cousin with his shoelace before heading outside.

I explored while the kids played.
I confirmed that even the smallest trees turn colors in the fall.

Mooch-Man and I had a photo session.
(I love the Black & White!!!)

The kids couldn't take it any longer...they wanted in on the action.

Is it me or do kids not have imaginations like we used to??!!??
(Below is a house that we made out of pinespills. I used to do this as a little girl and it would keep me entertained for hours!)

*Beaner is in her 'bedroom'
*PQ is in the 'bathroom'

Here she goes again...helping her cousin.

After playing outside, we walked to D-Dawg's soccer game. PQ rang a cow bell for a good portion of the 1st half. (The woman next to Country Mouse gave him one to use and Country Mouse LOVED IT! hahaha!)
After the game, we headed back to our house for some Chinese Food. Country Mouse and Uncle S decided to come over for a very spontaneous dinner with us! So glad you came, Country Mouse and Uncle S!

That's it....that's the weekend in a nutshell.

Giggles

Happy Friday! What better way to spend a Friday evening than with The Sunshine Family! They came over for dinner this evening and we had a great time. The kids wore their PJ's in honor of BREAKFAST DINNER but I decided to have MAKE YOUR OWN PIZZA's instead. (The wheat dough was BLAH...but overall, it was yummy. I think the oatmeal chocolate chip cookies helped. Hahaha!)

We heard GIGGLES and MORE GIGGLES and EVEN MORE GIGGLES! Izzy Sunshine and PQ were very good friends to one another and it was such a blessing to watch them in action. :)

Giggle. Giggle. "It only took us 20 minutes to get here."

Giggle. Giggle. Silly.

Giggle. Giggle. 'Expecting'.

Giggle. Giggle. YUM!

Giggle. Giggle. Dramatic.

Giggle. Giggle. GIGGLE!

Giggle. Giggle. Bonding.

Giggle. Giggle. Artist's In Action.

Giggle. Giggle. LOUD!

Giggle. Giggle. Adorable.

Giggle. Giggle. Kind.

Giggle. Giggle. Friends!

Two peas in a pod, really. PQ and Izzy Sunshine both LOVE to play! From costumes to playing house, these two GIGGLED the whole entire night! Not a single ounce of whining...not a single ounce of fighting...only giggles! It was awesome!!! We had a great time this evening with The Sunshine Family. They are a great family and I am thrilled to have them in my life. :)
