The Proof: Swiper & Chuckles
It never fails. The nicknames that have been given to Swiper & Chuckles continue to be right on point. Swiper continues to 'swipe' living things (whether they want her to or not) and Chuckles continues to smile no matter what! I love these two girls and I am so blessed to have them in my life. After a recent visit this past weekend, I was able to capture why each of them got the names that they did. More proof for y'all....
Swiper LOVES Little Miss Weenie...
Seriously~she is Miss Weenies #1 fan!
Chuckles always makes me giggle...
she has an infectious personality, that's for sure!
Swiper & Chuckles....yup, I think I hit the nail on the head with these nicknames!
What do you think?

A Sugar Look Alike
PQ noticed a 'Sugar look alike' in the aisle of Target a few weeks ago. If it hadn't been for Sugar's runny nose, I think we could have told you that it was actually Sugar on the product display. Seriously....how crazy is this comparison??!!?? (I'm determined to go back to Target and get another pic without the runny nose...)

From Funny Face To Sad Face
Sugar's FUNNY face...
...followed by her SAD face.
All in a matter of 10 seconds. She was less than impressed by the camera.
Yikes!

NFL Geography & Sugar's School Box
Over the past few weeks, PQ has been working on a Football Unit Study. He has been working through various vocabulary words associated with the sport and he has been processing salary information for several athletes. He has been reading the Tim Tebow memoir and he has been digging deeper into the various cities and states that the NFL teams are located. PQ isn't really a football fan but considering the recent book choice, I thought we could explore football in greater detail and allow him to see real life examples of various school topics. I think he enjoyed disecting the football salaries (by daily and hourly pay...and taking it a step further to see how much money players make per minute and per second, if salaries were to paid out this way). Did you know that Peyton Manning makes .79 per SECOND??!!??
Another highlight for PQ was the NFL geography lesson. PQ was responsible for locating each city and state that hosts an NFL team. He cut out team logos and taped the individual teams on their appropriate city and state. For PQ, this was a real life geography lesson and he had a blast doing it!
Did I mention that he had a BLAST?!!?
And look who else enjoyed this lesson...
As PQ closed in on the last few teams, we had to move Sugar away from the map. She kept stealing the team logos and it essentially created more work for PQ.
While meeting with some other homeschool mama's who have had toddlers in the house in the past, I asked them if they had any recommendations for keeping Sugar occupied during school hours. For us, the majority of our collaborative work happens while Sugar is sleeping or taking naps. But as she is getting older, she is starting to nap less often. And of course, she wants to be involved in the school business (even if she doesn't understand what we're doing). A few of the other mothers suggested getting Sugar her very own 'school box' that only comes out during school time. They recommended filling the box with her own age appropriate school supplies. And earlier in the week, we gave it a whirl...
Sugar was PSYCHED about her very own box of 'goodies'.
Her pink calculator was by far her favorite.
She loves buttons!
It's still hard to believe that she's 17 months old!
Apparently school makes Sugar tired!!!
Who knew that an empty busy box would be so much fun!
Thanks again to all of the other mama's who gave us the idea!
It worked!

The Sweep Fairy
Sugar loves to get dressed up for any occassion. She loves to wear dresses and she especially loves the dress-up dress that Bobana gave her. She wanted to wear the dress today while she was playing baby dolls with PQ. Within a few minutes of putting the dress on, she grabbed the mini-broom and got to work. She takes right after her mama....hahaha. Afterall, I do prance around the house in sparkly dresses sweeping the floors. Come on, now...don't you believe me?!?
Introducing our Sweep Fairy!
PS~where is your other shoe, Sugar?!?
