Lookin' Good, Boys!

I'm not sure who's idea it was, and in all honesty, it doesn't really matter at all.  What matters is that these boys spent a solid hour primping each other, because apparently they had big plans.  (I think they jumped in the pool about 10 minutes after they finished up.)

Tony spent 2 nights at our house this past week.  The boys had a GREAT time together and they kept each other busy, using their imaginations the entire time.  After changing Sugar's diaper on Saturday morning, I overheard a faint spraying noise and then I heard the noise of a hairdryer.  But that didn't make sense to me, so I went to investigate.  As I got closer to PQ's bedroom, I noticed that the door was shut and I also (gagged) noticed that the smell of AXE was consuming the rest of our home.  I knocked on PQ's bedroom door and I found this...

Exhibit A: The hairdryer in Tony's hand...
Exhibit B: AXE cologne on PQ's bureau...
Exhibit C: 2 boys smiling as if they were up to no good...

Tony was quick to tell me that they were doing each others hair but the hairspray wasn't working very well.  When I asked what they were using for hairspray, both boys exclaimed AXE, as if I was the one asking a silly question.
(Please note that AXE is body spray NOT hairspray...)

And what make-over would be complete without hair paste?!?
Oh boy...this could get interesting.

Lookin' Good, Boys!
(I love the clumps in PQ's hair...wow...boys have no clue...)

Is he tired?  Is he sad?

Nope...he's PSYCHED.

I couldn't resist...seriously, who takes a gun to the salon??!!??

Now this is getting serious...

PQ and Tony certainly surprised me with their randomness on Saturday.  These two boys never cease to amaze me.  They are both extremely curious and very silly, by nature.  It's really no wonder these two would come up with the idea to make themselves look more presentable.  I even overheard Tony asking Parker "Are we really what we think we are?"...and PQ asked him what he meant by his question.  Without hesitation, Tony told PQ that they were "hot guys".  I quickly reminded the two single-digit-aged boys that they would always be handsome.  End of discussion.  They both smiled.  I think they knew what I was getting at.  *wink*

Izzy Sunshine's Day

Last night was Izzy Sunshine's Day with her Mama.  It was her special day to get out and about, while getting spoiled a little.  It was the typical Mother/Daughter Date Night....except Izzy wanted ME to go as well.  I was VERY HONORED to be invited on the Mother/Daughter Date Night, although I'm still a little confused about why I was invited.

Come on, Izzy...try on something wild and wacky!
It will be fun, we promise!
(Izzy was not impressed by our 'fun games'.)

Perhaps this is why I was invited...???...

...I'm pretty sure she was IMPRESSED!

Maybe this is why I was invited...Mama Sunshine needed someone to tell her that she was LAME for obsessing over Wasabi Nuts.  Afterall, we were at a CANDY STORE!
*Wink...I love you, anyways...but you're still lame.*

Oh yeah, baby!  Izzy's first time eating POP ROCKS!

My favorite...

Did I mention how honored I was to take part in Mother/Daughter Night??!!??

Papa Sunshine:  I think this might be the reason why I was invited.  Afterall, someone had to notice the sign and give her a little nudge!

Regardless of why I was invited, I had a GREAT TIME!
Thanks again, Izzy!

The night was still young, so Izzy asked for CHINESE FOOD!

And after stuffing ourselves to the gills, the girls set up shop in our basement for MOTHER/DAUGHTER MOVIE TIME!  (I went to bed while the other two wild and crazy girls hung out having fun.  FYI~ Mooch went to bed and let the girls be alone.)

Mother/Daughter Date Night ended up being a blast.  I was honored to be a part of such a special time.  I never once felt like I was intruding on their time and I was treated like a queen.  But wasn't it supposed to be ALL ABOUT IZZY??!!!???  Thanks again for a great night, girls.  I had a BLAST!  So, when is the next Mother/Daughter Date Night happening???!!???

M is for MANDOLIN...

PQ's first mandolin lesson is this evening.  He's ABSOLUTELY beside himself about it.  He can't wait to finally sit down with his teacher and start learning!  Stay tuned for PQ's mandolin mania...

Something's dying...

The odor of something dying is never a pleasant one to find.  But what's even more disturbing than smelling that nasty odor, is not being able to find where it's coming from.  For days (yes, days), I have been smelling something gross coming from PQ's bedroom.  Every time I walked into his room, my nostrils would cringe.  I asked PQ if he had anything funky in his room and he would continuously tell me that he didn't have anything in his room.  For a few days, PQ didn't even smell the funk that I had been describing.

To me, it smelled like a dead animal.  I wondered several times if it was possible for his taxidermy friend to be leaking this foul odor.  There were times when I would take cologne and spray a little on his friends neck.  (Yes, I'm admitting to this.)  It even got to the point where I would sniff the dogs, wondering if they were dying and emitting this terrible odor.  But all the while, the dogs smelled fine.  (Let me rephrase that...the dogs stink, but their stink was not the stink of death that I was smelling in PQ's room.)

When Grammy came to the house, I asked her if she could go in PQ's room and smell what I was smelling.  We have SONIC-SMELL-SENSORS in my side of the family (some might think it could be considered a super power, but I'll be honest and tell you that it can often be a curse to smell the things that I pick up with my nose.  It's not right!)  Anyways, I digress...let me get back to the story.  When Grammy entered PQ's room, she didn't smell a thing.  Perhaps her aged sonic-smell-sensors were a little off.  Who knows??!!??  I was committed to finding the cause, so we continued to look around PQ's room.  When we went near his bookshelf and the heating register in his room, the smell was strong enough for Grammy to pick up the scent.  Oh boy, we were finally on to something!!!

Within minutes, Grammy exited PQ's room with the guilty suspect.  What was it, you ask?  Drumroll please....it was a rotten apple that had been sitting in PQ's backpack.  It wasn't nearly as 'dead' as I smelled it to be.  But it was pretty gross.  The big question in our house is this:  "When was the last time PQ used a backpack?".  YIKES!!!

What have YOU been finding at your house lately?  Anything memorable to share?  I would LOVE to hear about it!

CREEPY: Hasselhoff Ice Coffee Poster

I don't know if you've seen the recent iced coffee advertisements at the local Cumberland Farm's, but I have to tell you that they CREEP ME OUT!  There's something weird about David Hasselhoff wearing a tanktop, holding an iced coffee, while appearing to make eyes at the camera.  It's just plain WEIRD and CREEPY to me.

Every time we drive past a Cumberland Farm's gas station, I can't help but comment on their creepy advertisements, which leads to a further discussion about their choice for a spokesperson and their choice of his attire and his creepy grin.  I don't know...it's just plain weird to me.  Of course PQ wanted to know why I thought it was creepy and I had to give him a quick rundown of The Knightrider and Baywatch from the late 1980's.  (I'm telling you, it's just WEIRD that he was chosen to advertise their frosty beverage.  The whole Iced "Hoffee" joke is ridiculous in my eyes. Okay, I'm done ranting about it...sorry...I just think it's creepy, that's all.)

PQ never stops thinking about how to get a laugh from an audience.  Just moments ago, PQ got out of the pool and went into his room to get changed for the fireworks this evening.  When I knocked on PQ's door to see what was taking him so long, I was told to "come in".  As soon as I opened his bedroom door, PQ said "Thirsty?" and began to laugh.  It didn't quite register why he was laughing until I turned my back and started to walk away.  At that very moment, my brain registered what PQ was wearing.  And holding.

Oh my word...My little guy was pretending to be David Hasselhoff because he KNEW it would make me laugh.  Seriously, PQ cracks me up!  Never in a million years did I expect to see my sweet little 9 year old boy dressed up like a 60-year-old-had-my-time-to-shine-in-the-1990's-and-now-I-need-to-promote-iced-coffee-in-a-tanktop-with-a-creepy-smile-Hasselhoff!

VERY FUNNY TIMES AT OUR HOUSE TONIGHT!

Thanks for the laugh, PQ!  You crack me up!!!

My new FAVORITE song...

This song continues to challenge me...may it do the same for you...
