GAME SHOW- We love the 80's & 90's!

I've decided to have a little fun with the blog this week. I'm going to try something a little different. I'm convinced that we might get a few giggles along the way too! (At least, that's what I'm hoping for.)

Starting tomorrow I'm going to be posting some RANDOM pictures on my blog. What I want YOU to do is guess what part of the 80's or 90's we are trying to mimic. Please post your answers under the comments section. I will keep you posted on the correct answers as we go.

Charlie Bit Me!

PQ and I just found this You Tube video and laughed HYSTERICALLY. We had to share it with y'all just in case you need an extra laugh. Even if you don't think you need the extra laugh, it's worth checking it out.

It's funny (because they're not my own children). Hahahaha. (The video might take a few seconds to upload...)

Crash is helping again!

As you all know, I'm taking a few classes over the next few months so I can obtain my teaching certificate. My current class (Methods of Teaching Elementary Science) is going well so far. It's pretty time consuming considering the fact that the semester course is being comprised into a 3 week timeframe! Papa H has been very supportive of me and my new online responsibility. I'm very grateful for that support.

One of this weeks assignments is requiring me to revise an activity to incorporate two National Science standards and two state standards. The professor told us to use existing lesson plans that we are currently using in our classrooms (most of the students are currently teaching). In addition, I will be required to submit a science unit next week. After digging online for some ideas, I realized that I do not need to reinvent the wheel. Instead, I decided to call upon a friend for some help.

Do y'all remember CRASH? Click HERE if you don't remember her. I knew you would remember her!!!! She currently teaches third grade in the nearby school district so I called her this evening to ask for some assistance. I'm going to be meeting with her on Thursday to review some of the lessons plans that she uses within her own classroom. I'm thrilled about this opportunity as it will allow me to identify strategies that have been successful with her science curriculum.

Thanks again for the extra helping hand, Crash! I really appreciate it! :)

PQ is battling a nasty cold!

This picture was taken a few days ago....not much has changed. Our little man is still down for the count. Coughing, fever, chills, dizzy spells, gagging (from the cough). The doctors office said that we should wait to see if any symptoms advance before taking him in the office for a further examination. We thought we were in the clear this afternoon, however, this evening is a whole other story! He's MISERABLE and very ill.

Please lift him up in prayer. His body is weak and he continues to battle infections since having surgery last week.
Be well, everyone!

Sneaking Tasty Treats

As a little girl, I remember hanging around with a girl named Molly from up the street. She was older than I was and we used to do everything together. I specifically remember having a LITTLE DEBBIE fetish when I was younger. In all honesty, we both did. I remember us sneaking Little Debbie treats from her house before we would head off for the day with her parents. We would stuff oatmeal creme pies in our mouths and then walk out the door (hoping that nobody would notice). Nobody ever caught on to our pilfers (at least not that we knew of). I'm sure we can all think back to our childhoods and recall a time when we were being sneaky.

Today I realized (again) that dog's aren't any different. Well, at least OUR dog isn't any different. As you already know, Mooch has a food fetish. His nose gets him into trouble all.the.time! After investigating the motives of my pooch today, I quickly discovered some troubling evidence.

PLEASE NOTE: Exhibit A

LOCATION: Stuffed between the chair cushions

DESCRIPTION: 5 Grain Bread that went missing 2 days ago

EXHIBIT B

LOCATION: Stuffed under his dog bed located in the livingroom

DESCRIPTION: Another piece of the same grain bread mentioned above

EXHIBIT C

LOCATION: Hidden under the blanket on his other bed located in our bedroom

DESCRIPTION: Another piece of said bread

CONCLUSION: Little Debbies and 5 Grain Bread might not seem to have a lot in common...but indeed they do. We all fall weak to tasty treats once in a while.

TIME TO SHARE: Can you think of a tasty treat that you used to (or still do) sneak from time to time?

Hanging with the Glory Boys and Aunt B!

WHY ARE THESE BOYS SMILING, YOU ASK??!!??!!??
Because we surprised them with a trip to Chuck-E-Cheese!
(Where a kid can be a kid...*WINK*)

PQ had a BLAST with A-Man & Tony today!
(I had a great time with the kids...and Glory too!)

When we got home from our busy day, Aunt B was at our house!!!!!

After dinner, PQ wasn't feeling very well so he went in the livingroom...
and passed out on the chair!

While PQ was sleeping, I hung out with Aunt B.
She really wants to learn how to cook so we embarked on a few recipes together!
Bacon & Cheddar Quiche (for Aunt B- it's her favorite)!
Bacon, Asparagus, & Cheddar Quiche (for us)!

After dinner, we needed something sweet...
(...it's a girl thing...)

The snow was coming down at RAPID speed so Aunt B headed home before it got too nasty outside.

From the Glory Boys to Chuck-E-Cheese to Baking with Aunt B, the entire day was so much fun! I feel like my whole day was a HIGH (aside from PQ getting sick). I couldn't have asked for a better day with friends and family!

Happy Birthday To You!

Today was a VERY special day for one of our family members!
Can you guess who??
Papa H surprised us by coming home early and making breakfast in bed!!
(Hhhhm....was it MY very special day??)

I was a VERY lucky girl today after my husband surprised me with breakfast in bed but it wasn't my special day.
So, who's very special day was it!!!???

YUP! You guessed it!
Today was Mooch's 3rd birthday!

Everyone seems to have a tradition on their birthday. Mooch is no different, my friends! Each year for his birthday, Mooch goes over Rebenstein's house for a birthday play date.

They ALWAYS end the evening with a little ice cream. Doggy ice cream, that is!

Mooch LOVES taking his time (WINK) eating his ice cream...

...while Rebenstein eats the ENTIRE cup (before Papa H scoops it into his dish).
*The past 2 pictures and comments were for Country Mouse...hahaha...my dog is ALWAYS devouring food while her well mannered dog is quite proper. Not tonight, though...hahaha*

And before his big day was all over, he needed some SNUGGLE time on the couch!

Happy Birthday, Mooch!

We love you!

XOXOXOXO

First Day of Winter Break!

Today was the first official day of WINTER BREAK! Happy Winter, Everyone!

During the morning hours, PQ and I met up with Billy Banks for a little Tae Bo. It was hilarious to see PQ keep up with all of the moves.

Later on in the day, we had some special visitors! The Glory Family (kids only) came over for a few hours while Glory and her hubby went on a date. The boys had a blast doing what boys do best...BEING WILD!

Superhero PQ & Superhero Tony = TOUGH GUYS

A-Man was playing it up for the camera...

...while the warriors saved the day (eating dessert)!!

Princess E was too busy TEXTING to give me a smile.

PQ must be feeling pretty 'cool' because he's offering to pose for me!
(We all know how he doesn't do this very often!)

Mooch was playing it cool as well.
(I think he's prepping for tomorrow's big day...HIS THIRD BIRTHDAY!!!!)

The boys chilled out over a movie....SPACE BUDDIES!

Princess E was still WAY.TOO.COOL to let me take her picture.

The evening ended with laughs when Mr. Glory brought home a singing Valentine surprise for Papa H. To make a long story short, we like to rip on Mr. Glory after he made Papa H a CD comprised of various love songs that they both like. It was sort of high-school-ish, in a weird sort of way. (In Mr. Glory's defense, he put songs on the CD that reminded him of Glory...and he thought that Papa H would think of me while also listening to the songs.) Mr. Glory didn't mean anything by it but we do love to rip on him because of it.

Happy First Day of Winter Break, Everyone!

Catch & Chase

I've had my fair share of bus rides over the years, that's for sure. As of Tuesday, I will officially be a college student again. This time, however, the return to school will not involve a school bus. Instead, I will be learning from home via an online course.

I will be taking 2 courses over the next few months to complete the necessary requirements to become a certified elementary school teacher. I've been putting this off for quite some time and I have finally taken the steps towards finishing this piece of my puzzle. In all honesty, I'm REALLY nervous about taking my classes online. I like being in the company of others and I tend to have a very hands-on learning style.

I have this butterfly feeling in my belly. I'm nervous. There is no getting around it. I want to be successful and I'm anxious about the unknown. I found this quote this evening and I thought I would share it with y'all.

Slow down and everything you are chasing will come around and catch you.

~John De Paola

So....What have you been chasing lately?

Happy Valentine's Day!

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!!!
This morning, PQ and I went shopping for a 'special something' for Papa H. PQ picked out a green RED SOX sweatshirt that he thought that Papa H would love...and indeed he did! We bought PQ a spy gear play set (because he's been very curious about detective work lately). Papa H surprised me with the FIREPROOF movie and a box of chocolates! YUM!

This afternoon, we got to spend a few hours with Grammy Jo-Jo & Grampa H. It was nice seeing them and getting to spend some time chit-chatting about life's happenings. Just before dinner time, Mamie and the girls came down as well.

PQ loves to 'hog' Grampa from everyone else.

(Please notice his homemade valentine's shirt...it says STAR LUV GUITAR..???)

I initially forgot my camera when we went out to dinner...but I remembered it as soon as I got back at home! Hey look...it's Grammy Jo-Jo & H-Banana!

Still crazy in love after all these years.
*WINK*

I'm not sure if Miss K really wants her picture taken or not...??

Like I said...It's ALL ABOUT Grampa H!

One last snuggle before Mamie heads back home.
The girls are venturing to Grampa's (aka: 'the woods') for a few days.

One more time...HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!
Pucker up!!!!!
