Say What?!?

After being sent to her room for making a bad choice, Sugar took the consequence and went to her room.  A few minutes went by and she decided that she was done with her time out.  She came downstairs and told Papa H that she was done and he quickly told her to go back to her room until he was ready to talk about what had happened.  She immediately put her hands on her hips, marched up the stairs to her bedroom, and screamed "but Daddy, I still need to come down again and throw a fit".

Sassy girl earned some extra time in her room thinking about how else she could have reacted...and we sat the speechless knowing that she has fits mapped out into her daily plans.  Oh joy...

PQ is back from Ecuador!

For the past week, we have been hearing all about the trip that PQ recently went on.  There's a lot...and PQ has been giving us small glimpses into what his life looked like for the past 40 days while he was away.  It's amazing, really.  I'm completely in awe of the bravery that he has shown through all of this.  And to be honest, he doesn't seem phased by his ability to do any of it.  In his eyes, it's just what you do.

To be intentional about your walk with Christ takes effort.  To boldly go into the world and share the gospel with people that God leads you to is intimidating.  But yet, my 11 year old son continues to be an example to me as I watch his own story unfold.  He has always been the brave one.  The one who shares the gospel with the people in his path.  He has always had a heart for the unsaved.  And it blows my mind to see him step out in faith, head to another country to serve, and be the hands and feet for Christ.

Over the past 40+ days, I have heard The Lord telling me to trust Him.  Trust Me...Trust Me...he continues to impress upon me.  With fears gripping me in my step, I continue to trust the lies that revolved in my head.   I haven't always trusted Him but yet He continues to reveal Himself to me through all of my struggles.

As more stories are shared, so does my conviction.  I need to be more intentional about growing in Christ.  I need to be more bold when posed with situations that require me to step out of my comfort zone and share the good news.  I need to be braver, knowing that God is my shield.  He is always with me.  He never leaves my side, even when I'm running in the opposite direction filled with fear.
